Somehow I have always known that she was the one I am once going to marry. But I did not know how she looked and what her name was until she came to my attention at our friends' wedding in August 2003.
Christine just finished her studies as M.Sc.Ch.E. at Aalborg University. To my great benefit she likes to bake and cook and when she does not spend time with me, she is doing gymnastics or other forms of physical exercising.
On the 12. August 2006 we got married in northern Jutland, and the 12. August also happens to be her birthday so I need only remember one date to buy her flowers.
Here you can see some of the pictures from our weeding.
She has been working in the same nursing home at night every second week since the 1st March 1978, so I suppose she has gotten used to sleeping in the daytime.
She is a highly skilled cook (apprentice of my grandmother) and excels in producing almost anything eatable. The only exception is brown gravy sauce in which we disaggree about the presence of sugar.
When she is not looking after her children (i.e. me my father and brother, and her cat) she likes gardening and reading.
For the most of his life he has been working in different big and small banks all over South Jutland. At the present time he is working in a very small and very local bank and it seems that he is very happy with that.
His two major interests are computers and cars. In the 1980s he bought his first computer as one of the "pioneers" in home computing. It was a ZX Spectrum based on Zilog's 8 bit Z80 microprocessor. It was fitted with 48kB of memory and used a modified tape recorder for main storage. And had to be programmed almost from scratch. All his collegues and acquaintances responded with comments like
"What on earth do you need a microcomputer for. It's only something that nuclear scientists use when they develop new weapons".
Ten years later 75% of all Danish homes had a microcomputer with access to the internet.
His other interest, cars, mostly aims at finding flaws and bad review on German cars - Volkswagen in particular. Also comparing prices of cars the same size and with the same amount of accessories is a great hobby of his.
His own car, a Peugeot 307SW, is very nice, though. I wouldn't mind switching it with my bike.
At the moment he is studying in the samen town as me to become a librarian which he will be entitled to call himself in 2008.
In 2000 he opened a design company Birkebaek & Just I/S together with a friend and by 2003 they had over 40 resellers worldwide, selling their minimalistic wall clocks and candlestics.
His major hobby is books and reading. I think he owns a copy of all Stephen King's books and some of them, I know, he has in different versions. He has also written a couple of un-published books himself. I haven't read any of them though.
Also he shares my passion for whisky and he has some very nice bottles of Scotch single malt whisky in his collection.
When they were kittens Bølle had a very round face while Yoda had very pointed ears. Hence the name.
Apart from sleeping and eating, Yoda likes hunting and fishing. In 2003 it mananaged to catch one roach in a nearby stream. Not much, but more than many other anglers can brag of.
I was born in 1978 in South Jutland. (more to come when I find out more about myself...)
